Can anyone let me know if they use an AP1 3 iron. I currently use the AP1 4 and 5 iron with a 913 hybrid set at 19 degrees loft. I know the 3 iron has 20 degrees loft so I was thinking of tweaking my hybrid to nearer 17 degrees which would give me a more even gapping with my 3 wood set at 15 degrees. I find the 4 and 5 iron AP1 great clubs to use so would appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

    Hi Phil

I play AP2's, but have got AP1 - 3 iron and 4 iron in my bag, i have also got a 18 degree 915f. I find my 915 goes quite considerably further than my 4 iron, so need my 3 iron to bridge that gap.

I would try tweaking your hybrid to 17 degrees and then you should have a gap of between 10 - 15 yards on your 3 iron, you could also change your 3 wood to just over 14 degrees and in that way maintain the gaping between your 3 wood and hybrid.

    Hi Phil,

    I currently have 714 4-7 AP2  & 8-PW MB , i recently purchased a 714 AP1 3 iron.

It's so easy to hit either off the tee or ground.

I have a 915 21° hybrid A1 setting and i hit it further than the 3 iron but a lot higher.

The 3 iron is more for windy days or links courses for me.

I would leave your hybrid on 19° if you're putting the 3 iron in the bag.

    Regards

    Gary
