Gary this is sooo cool. I want to contact Scotty do see if they would do a camo custom putter for me with my Dads DOB on it. This hits home with me, in July of 2015 my Father committed suicide. He was a disabled Vietnam Vet and struggled all his life. Nice job Gary.

Since it's still cold on Long Island, most activity has been indoors. Staying active in the gym, putting on an indoor mat in my basement, swing a weighted club and orange whip daily, spent some time on an indoor simulator at my local pro shop, and watch as much of the golf channel as I can. Can't wait for spring to get here, this cold is killing me!!!

After starting golf at the age of 6 (I am now almost 50), I had never taken a formal lesson with a PGA professional until this past summer. As a self-taught golfer, I consistently score in the high 70's to low 80's, but my goal is to be sub-80 the majority of my rounds. I saw good progress throughout the fall of 2016. My teacher offered a winter indoor program which allowed me to continue my work when the weather in NE Ohio does not cooperate. I take a 30 min lesson 3X per month indoors, and will still play outdoors at the few local courses that remain open during the winter when the weather allows. Provided there is no snow, I will play in weather that many would not (I teed off on Jan 15 with the temperature at 29 degrees F). On occasion, like this past weekend, we had 60 degree temps so playing 18 was quite enjoyable (as was the score of 77). I am seeing the work put in with the lessons translate into my performance on the course with improved ball striking, more consistent shot making and greater confidence in my game. During the week, I will work on the drills in my basement that I was given during my lessons to solidify the positions and feel in my swing so it is second nature. When I take my Myrtle Beach trip this spring which I will consider the real start of the 2017 season, I am excited to see the results as well as help determine what areas I can further improve when my outdoor instruction can resume.
