  1. Has anyone played and stayed at the French Lick Resort? Looks like there are three courses, Pete Dye, Donald Ross and Valley Links. Also, how are the practice facilities for off days?

One final question, Sultan's Run in Jasper, IN, hosting Women's Senior LPGA, good course that's close. Anyone played there? 25 miles away.

Also interested in answers..a buddy and I are going to play the Pete Dye course there in August. Curious about what other courses are recommended in the area
  3. I play a tournament at the Donald Ross and Pete Dye every year around Memorial Day. The Donald Ross course does not have a driving range, however where the Valley Links course is located, you will find a driving range. As for the course, you get what you see, and it is scoreable, but you have to be in the right spots on the greens as they are the toughest greens I have ever played on.

The Pete Dye course is a different beast. Starting with the driving range and practice area, it is one of the best you will ever see, however the short game area is just a tad small. As for the course, you better hit the fairways, and they are tight. The caddy will do a great job guiding you in the correct direction. The greens are much easier to read, so just hit your lines and watch the ball fall into the cup! This is 100% my favorite event on the NAGT (North American Golf Tour) each year.
  4. Brian,

Yes, all great tracks and you can practice for a fee (not sure about price) at the Pete Dye course on off days. The scenery is beautiful. The Donald Ross course has a ton of history and greens are brutal. You must hit it in the right spot to have a chance to make birdies. Sultans Run is always part of our golf golf trips to FL. Maybe 25 minutes, we’ll worth the trip.

Played both the Dye & Ross courses in August. Both well worth the drive from KC to play. Definitely on the list to play again. The views from the top of the mountain on the Dye course are beautiful.

Planning on playing the Donald Ross Course next month. Beautiful area of southern Indiana and the weather should be perfect.
