It took 39 years

I have played golf for 39 years and have come close to a hole in one many times. Friday November 3rd that all changed. My buddy and I joined up the Senior Golf Group at The Rawls Course because there were no tee times available for us as a twosome. We both knew most of the senior golfers and they invited us to play with them. We moved up to the white tees to get in their game and speed up play. After 5 holes of quarters being exchanged on every green to pay off bets we hit the sixth hole, 142 yards, 9 iron in hand. When I struck my shot it left the club and was never off-line, one hop and it disappeared. After waiting 39 years to experience this moment I have to tell you, the first thing that came to mind is "The bar tab is going to be a killer". I figured 22 senior golfers would put me through the wringer buying drinks. They were very gracious and it didn't hurt much at all. I'm very grateful that they allowed us to join their outing, otherwise it would have been just another day...... at work.
