09/05/2015 - MINNECHAUG GOLF COURSE

Hole 9: The closing hole at Minnechaug is a medium sized par 3 guarded by two large pine trees to the left, and a forced carry over a pond from an elevated tee once again. A bailout area front left is the only true safe shot other than putting your tee shot on the green in regulation. The green slopes significantly from back to front towards the water. Usually it plays 150 yards but with the light wind behind me, I played for 160 Yards and a fade with my 7 Iron off the tee. It was the best shot ever, the ball landing a few feet before the hole and then disappearing. I could not tell from up the elevation if the ball had just rolled off. But When I walked up, the caretaker was grinning and said, its your lucky day, you might just have had a hole in one...:-). Ran to the hole to see my swoosh Mojo with my name on it stuck between the flag stick inside the hole and a nice divot about 3 feet next to the hole. Completely in ecstasy, had the caretaker take my pictures for the proof and it was a perfect hole in one and the perfect gift from the lord, just two weeks before my birthday. Had my score card signed by the PGA Pro, with the caretaker testifying my shot at the club house as well as to record my hole in one. I also recorded my lowest score for the season i.e 1 over par on September 5th, 2015.
