42 + 19 + 7 + 4 = 1

I was playing with my 3 friends on a Thursday afternoon on August 8th of 2019 at Thorncreek Golf Course in Thornton, CO. I had been working on a complete swing overhaul, coupled with getting used to my new AP3’s with specs that I haven’t used since 2003. The new irons and specs have given me a resurgence in distance that I haven’t seen since I was in my mid-20’s. I had just started to feel confident and comfortable with pulling less club on my irons. We pulled up to Number 4 that now featured an elevated tee box on the newly renovated track. Using my range finder, I shot the actual distance at 170 yards, but the elevation drop made the hole play at 155 yards per my calculations. I was third to hit and my friend decided to video my swing as he sometimes will do when I ask him (and sometimes when I don’t). I teed up my Titleist Pro V1 #7 and struck a perfect high draw with my 9 iron. Immediately, my three friends said, “That’s got a chance”! The ball hit 3 feet right and past the pin and started to spin left. It seemed like it took forever (but only a couple of seconds) as we watched my ball disappear into the cup. Time stood still for a few seconds as I watched my first hole in one go down after playing golf for 19 years. We took a picture of me grabbing the ball out of the hole and I even paid for the plaque from the golf course. I am 42 years old now and have been Golf for 19 years. I hit a Titleist 7 on hole number 4 for my first hole in 1! Hence, 42 + 19 + 7 + 4 = 1
