Lucky 13th hole at Santa Barbara Golf Course. It was August 2, 2019, my 70th birthday. At that moment, I had a feeling. I switched from a Titleist 1 to a 2 in honor of my birthday. And I said to my cousin, “Have either of us had a hole in one yet today?” A joke. A large one, since we’ve both been playing for 60-some years and never bagged one. I teed up. I swung.
