Aces Wild

So I had 1 hole in one in my life entering this round, but despite my reputation as an honest golfer (and person in general) I had some folks doubting me as I scored it on a par 3 course at 6:30am when playing by myself...well, no longer are there claims of disbelief as I had witnesses for this round! The scene was Castle Rock, CO at the Ridge at Castle Pines, an Oktoberfest scramble. The team was doing well but had left a couple birdies on the course and were in need of a boost. On the 14th tee, waiting for the group to clear we were talking about our history with respect to holes in one and my story was broached. One of our guys, Trent, said he was going to get his first on that hole. Well, one of us did, but it was me not Trent...a smooth 52 degree Vokey from 144 (downhill, playing about 125) was headed just right of the pin with a nice draw. From the elevated tee we had a great view of the ball landing just beyond the hole and lurching back in to our jubilant surprise. Pretty special, but it got better. On the 17th hole, we had all hit and I knew I had another good one. My cart partner commented on the way up that one of our guys had hit a good one but too far left for an ace, but mine had a chance with the line. Well, we got up to the green (it's elevated from the tee so can't see where balls ended up) and only saw 3 balls. Based on where they were, I assumed mine hit and released long and was nestled in the rough. Trent was walking by the hole and said "There's a Titleist 1 in the hole!". Needless to say I thought he was just messing with us given the 14th hole. He was not and sure enough I had scored ANOTHER hole in 1 on the back 9...Now for the bad news, we ended at 15 under and finished 4th, just 2 strokes behind the winners. Oh, and while I bought a Powerball ticket that night, I did not win so I will still be playing my golf on the weekends I guess.
