Aces Wild

The scene was Castle Rock, CO, the Ridge at Castle Pines during their Oktoberfest scramble. My group was on the 14th tee overlooking the group in front of us on the green. One of our players mentioned he had never gotten a hole in one and stated "I'm just gonna get one here." So we all shared our stories and I was the only one with one previously, but nobody saw it as I was on a par 3 course at 6am or so and playing by myself. They were giving me some static about not believing me. Well that was short lived. I stepped up last in our group, pulled my 52 Vokey out and hit a nice little slight draw. I knew it was a good shot but I didn't know how good. It dropped just over the pin, about an inch behind the hole, jumped forward, then spun right back into the hole! Now they all believed that I had one. A few holes later, on the 17th green, I again was slated to tee off last. I pulled the same club, and hit another nice approach. We couldn't see the result as the green is elevated but we had 3 in tight. As we were driving up to the green, my cart partner Matt said, I think TJ's is close but your line had a chance to be real good. We saw a couple balls just left of the hole and I knew that wasn't my line. I thought it had hit a bit past pin high and kicked into rough behind the green. Trent walked by the hole and non-chalantly said "there's a Titleist 1 in the hole" and Matt and I both started laughing thinking he was joking due to the events on 14. Well, he wasn't, and I had just scored my 2nd ace of the day and 3rd overall. Needless to say the tournament had no prize for a hole in one (or for 2 holes in one) so I had to settle for buying a round of drinks and the lasting memory!
