Surprise Witness

I decided to play a quick 9-holes after work at Seminole Lake Country Club in Seminole, FL. The Head Pro suggested I play the back 9. I was playing by myself so I quickly caught up to the groups in front of me, but really wasn't in much of a hurry. I had a cigar and plenty of free time. By the time I reached the 16th hole, a 178 par 3, the twosome in front of me was on the tee-box. They each hit their shots onto the green and finished the hole quickly. They walked off, got into their cart and did a quick U-turn to get to the #17 tee-box, which was really only about 25 years from the left edge of the green they just departed. So, finally I took out my 7-iron and hit my shot into a strong 20mph right-to-left wind. The shot was high and arcing, but honestly I thought I put it out too far to the right and it would go into the water. Then the wind caught the ball, pushed it further into the green, where it landed 25-feet from the pin, rolled quickly toward the hole and suddenly disappeared! I was astounded. My first hole-in-one. I was so excited and frantically looked around and remembered I was alone. Oh no! I...Was...Alone! No one saw my hole-in-one! No one would believe me. Then I heard it. A voice like the God of Thunder coming from the direction of the #17 tee box. "HOLY $(%& !!!!" I rushed to my cart, jammed the pedal to the floorboard and quickly made my way to the twosome in front of me. "Please tell me one of you saw that" "Dude you made it! I saw it go in! A hole-in-one!", my new best friend Frank said. "You have to take a picture." But, of course, I didn't have my phone. Fortunately, Frank took out his phone and snapped the picture to capture my very first hole-in-one! I was so happy to have the picture, but much happier to have a witness.
