Are You Kidding Me!

It was a cool spring day in central Illinois. I wasn’t having a particular good round. I approached the last hole of my round. The ground was wet from all the recent rain and there was a slight breeze from left to right. I pulled our my pithing wedge thinking I had to hit it good to carry the bunker in front of the green. My only swing though was to keep my elbows in to create a triangle with my forearms and chest. My swing was smooth and the ball flight was high and straight. The breeze carried it a little right landing about 6 feet short and a little left of the hole. The ball continued towards the pin rolling straight and dropping. I yelled, “Are you kidding me!” several times. You can imagine my excitement as this was my first hole in one ever. After my excitement of the shot, I realized that I was playing with 64 retirees in our group that all shared my excitement because they joined me for drinks in the clubhouse. It was a great day.
