Hole-in-one Sunrise

Played a Peter Jacobson course in Oregon City, OR. Been there many times. Weather is always better there than in town. Anyone who knows the course will tell you that you can score on the front where there are few trees but on the back you gotta pucker up and keep your head down because it gets tight and there are a few large hills. I was playing well through 15 and get to 16th tee. Realized my second cocktail was getting sweaty so I started drinking it and turned up the stereo to O.A.R., an old college band favorite. Teed up a 6-iron on the 146-yd hole. Green has severe slope in back to pond/rocks. All around green are large bunkers. Have to either punch it forward straight to get on or fly it 145 and land on, hoping it stays. I don't hit the ball far and I've been inconsistent with my 5-iron so thankfully from the back tees it was a red flag. I hit the ball and knew it would be a good shot. I watched it fade into the shade and go up towards the left-front bunker. I lost it for a second thinking it might have come up short but then a second later I see that little yellow ball roll FAST to the the middle of the green and disappear right where the flag is Started hootin' and hollerin'! New friend (for life now - haha) was ecstatic and gave me a high five. The group behind us came over to see what happened. It was great. Duckfarts on me for everyone in the clubhouse topped off the day and then I headed home to enjoy family time with the wife and kiddos. Day I won't forget!
