I am a 64-year-old woman who LOVES the game of golf! My first exposure to the game was with my Dad when I was 9 years old and he took me to a small course on the Cape called Santuit. It was love at first tee-shot! I played off and on whenever I could while growing up in the city, then later as I was raising my family. I now live in the 'burbs and have belonged to a Monday Night Ladies League called the Flying Eagles out of Tewksbury CC for the past 20 years or so. It was here at the 9th hole at TCC, on August 26th, 53 years after that first tee shot, that I carded my first ever ace! And, I have to say that, if you ever hit a hole-in-one, this is THE place to hit it! For you see, right behind the 9th green is a beautiful patio that is filled with diners on just about every warm, summer night. Well, all those diners started hootin' and hollerin' as I walked up to the green to gather my Nxt Tour S Titleist golf ball from the cup. They even gave me a standing ovation!! Talk about walking on cloud 9!! It was just such an incredible feeling that I will never, ever forget! Though my Dad is no longer here to share this terrific news, I know he was looking down on that bright sunny evening and cheering right along with that Tewksbury crowd.
