"Tick"
By Nick R On 26 August 2019
I was in northern Michigan on a golf trip with all the guys from my office. We did the typical longest drive and closest to the pin. I came up to the 15th hole at Treetops Resort in Gaylord Michigan, the traditional course. This was the closest to the pin hole. It was about 123 yards, slightly uphill, and there was some wind coming straight at us. I decided to go with a pitching wedge. I hit a solid shot, it started off a bit to the right and slowly drew back directly at the pin. The pin was behind a hill so I didn’t see it go in, but saw the ball was rolling toward the hole, I eventually heard the “tick” of the flagstick. I didn’t believe it was in the hole until I walked up to the green and saw my ball at the bottom of the cup. I immediately started celebrating, what an unbelievable feeling! Needless to say, I won closest to the pin!
