I was playing The Cradle par 3 course in Pinehurst with my wife and two teenaged daughters. My wife, recently recovered from breast cancer, stopped along with my older daughter to sit in the chairs, while I continued to play with my youngest daughter, who is on her high-school golf team. My 14 year old hit a shot to about 2 inches, and I told her she almost had a hole in one and I had never had one. 2 holes later, I holed out a sand wedge for my first ever ace. It was only a short par 3 course, but I'm a 9 handicap who has been playing for 30 years, and it's my first ever ace.
