Hole In One

Playing in our Monday evening handicap league at Oxbow Golf Club. I was playing with my partner, Brian Hayhurst. We were playing against J.R. Carpenter and Chuck Duggan. On the forth hole Hayhurst and Carpenter hit from the white tees and Duggan and I being over 65 hit from the senior tees which were about 94 yards. I hit first with a pitching wedge and although the ball did not go as high as one would expect, it was headed straight toward the flag. The first thing was that I heard the ball hit the flag but I did not actually see it since I recently had cataract surgery. I thought in my mind that the ball it the flag then was deflected onto the green although I did not see the ball. All three of my playing partners started yelling "it went into the hole". Then a couple of them said that it went in on the fly. I only half way believed them since I had never had a hole in one before since playing for about 42 years. When we walked up onto the green I looked into the hole and there it was. My very first. And hopefully not my last.
