It Took 20 Years...

I've been in many foursomes where I've witnessed hole-in-ones and always wondered when I would get mine. One morning, our club pro was on the 16 tee box with us when I stuck the pin 6 inches. Our Pro said, "It'll come! Keep striking the ball like that and it will go in when you least expect it." One week later, it happened on #14, 168 yards. However, I never saw it roll in. I struck the ball and said to the boys, "that felt pure and I think it will be close." When I finally looked up, the boys started yelling, "it's in, it's in" to the point the foursome on the 13th green behind us ran over to our tee box to celebrate with us. Though I never saw it go in, the feeling of striking a ball pure was satisfaction enough! Special thanks to Nemacolin Country Club for memorializing my first hole-in-one. Also, I did it with a Pro V1 and AP1 7 iron! Titleist and FootJoy for life!
