I have been playing golf for over 30 years and have been close to getting a hole in one, but yesterday the ice was finally broken. I am a Director of Golf of a public golf course in Michigan and yesterday happened to be Men's Day. I came to work early to make sure all tee boxes where in the proper positions for Men's day. The week prior they were not all together (meaning red, yellow and blue) in the same spot. You see on Men's day you have contests where all skill levels play for closest to the pins. So as I approached #17 I was taken back to see the tee blocks where in front of the tee boxes. The groundskeeper had all the par 3's in the front of the teeing area to let them heal. I told him I had over 200 guys playing today and asked him if it would be alright to move them to the front of each teeing area? He said that would be fine. Let's say I'm glad he allowed it. I then preceded to birdie the par 3 #4, the par 3 #7, pared the par 3 #14 then make my first one on the par 3 #17 from 110 yards using my Tileist Vokey 56 degree wedge. It was a great feeling and we celebrated like little school girls. It was my first hole in one and I am very happy that I decided to go for a morning ride around the course to set those tees before we started. PS - I also have the limited edition all black AP3's and love them.
