I finally did it! Playing in a Father-Son alternate shot tournament with my son, Aiken McDowell, we came to the 5th hole at the Legacy Golf Links in Aberdeen NC. The hole was 141 yards with the pin located in the front. After adjusting for the downhill green, I played the shot for 125 yards. The hit was pure and never left the pin. My Pro V1x landed two inches from the pin, bounced once, and went straight in. It was by far the greatest day of golf for me and I got to experience it with my son. We will reminisce about this day for years to come.
