PGA National First Hole In One

Playing in our regular group on Friday January 25, 2019 I scored my first ever hole in one. It occurred on the 2nd hole of the Palmer Course at PGA National where I am a member. The hole was playing 162 yards from the white tees to a back (blue flag) pin. I knew I had hit a solid 8 iron right toward the pin so I bent down and picked up my tee and started walking back to the cart when one of my playing partners said I think you ball went in the hole. I thought he was pulling my leg as the group of guys I play with do that sometimes but sure enough when we got to the green my ball was nowhere to be seen and my cart partner ran up to the flag, turned around and gave me a thumbs up! I used a custom numbered (77) Pro V1 that came from a dozen balls my son got me for Christmas which made the moment even more special! I always use Titleist balls and have been using the new AVX balls as well but usually come back to the Pro V. A round of drinks later in the members club with my golfing buddies and all the stories of great golf shots past made it truly a magic day that I will never forget in my 47 years of playing this great game!!
