Pinehurst Ace

Playing Pinehurst No. 2 was a dream come true, and a great way to back end a full week at the Pinehurst Golf Academy. It was unseasonably hot all week, but that wasn’t going to stop my wife and I from taking a great walk on one of the countries most historic courses. By the time we made it to the sixth hole we were exhausted and my caddy (Jeff) gave me my 5 iron for the 178 yard shot, pin center of the green. Hitting into the wind, the ball came off crisp and straight as an arrow. The ball hit the slick green, bounced once, and disappeared. Jeff said it was in, I was in disbelief, and my wife said “no way, it’s hiding behind the pin”. As we walked up, Jeff gave me a thumbs up. I waited for our playing partners to get onto the green (no easy feat) and walked up to grab my ball. The rest of the round is a blur...but I’ll never forget the course’s beauty. The folks at Pinehurst were kind enough to give me the flag from the pin, and I’ll cherish that moment for quite some time.
