Second Hole in One

Never saw it go in! Number 7 at Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club is an uphill par three with a bunker with a high lip guarding the front of the green, and with the hole cut center, middle of the green, we could only see the flag from the tee box. I thought I hit a good shot, but did not see the ball on the green. We checked the bunker, the rough between the bunker and green, and as I walked toward the back of the green to see if it had gone long, I looked in the hole and there it was. Honestly, it was the last place I thought it would be.
My first hole in one, 16 years ago is still as clear as if it happened yesterday. Our club pro, Glen Johnson asked to join our threesome as he had a couple of hours free. Being nervous playing with him, I took a 7 on number 3, a 190 yard par three. Redemption came two holes later as we watched the ball take two bounces and roll into the cup! At the end of the round he asked for the ball and scorecard, then a couple of weeks later presented me with a beautiful custom framed collage including the ball, scorecard and picture of the hole. My friends still razz me about the quad on number 3!
