My name is Jim Carew. I was on my 3 day annual Knights of Columbus golf trip at Villa Roma Golf Course in Callicoon, NY 6/3-6/5. Three of us decided to stick around to play another 18 after the last round of the third day Tuesday June 5, 2018 after everyone from the outing had gone home. From an elevated tee box on the 118yd par 3 13th hole, the first two golfers put their balls on the green. I proceeded to tee off with my sand wedge and landed the ball about 6 feet before the pin. The ball began to roll after it landed and didn’t stop until it was in the bottom of the cup. There were loud screams and high fives for a while. I’m sure the whole mountain heard us. Was a once in a lifetime moment that I will never forget. My son Jim Carew Jr. had a hole in one on the 115yd par 3 13th hole of Rainbow golf course on July 12, 2006. Same number hole and almost the same exact distance. The only difference was 40 years lol. He was 13 at the time he got his and I was 53. I am a 20 index and ended up shooting 39 on the back nine of a par 36. Total score was 86 for the round. The stars were aligned that day. I started playing when I was around 13. It took 40 years, but it was worth the wait!!! 13 seems to be a lucky number for our family lol.
