25 Years of a Family Golf Tournament

In the summer of 1985, my eldest sister, Betty, took up the game of golf … she was 43 years old. Our father had played golf for many years, but us kids didn’t take it up until Betty thought it would be fun to have a family golf tournament. And so a tradition was born … and every summer for the last 24 years, our family had gathered together from different states (and Mexico) to celebrate our love of family and golf.

Each tournament has approximately 12 – 16 players, ranging in age from 7 to 85 … all winners. The non-golfers (how can that be!!??) gather with us as well to enjoy a fun weekend of family, food, fun, and the inevitable stories from the golf course. We have played our tournament on courses in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada and … this year, July 2010, we will be play in Monterey, California.

We trust in our family for love and support, just as those players in our group trust their Titleist golf ball. What could be better?
