Old and wiser versus younger and stronger

For years my brother and I take our sons away for a few days to play golf. The last two years we have traveled to AC and found some really great courses. I will preface this story by saying my brother is a scratch golfer, while I am a 12 and the young men, ages 27 & 26 are close to my handicap; 8 and 12 respectively. On the first day before the first match, my brother has always provided the Titleist ProV1's and the ProV1X's, a dozen for each player. Why is it the youngsters go for the ProV1X's; they hit it TOO FAR already without any help. The matches are competative and fun and as the ProV1's have proven, for the 2nd year in a row, is that distance isn't the only part of the game, true iron play and a good feel for putting helps lower the scores. While the Old men cleaned up this year with the ProV1's, the youngsters won all of the driving contests with the ProV1X's but as the old adage goes; "You drive for show and put for dough!"
The year they ask for the ProV1's is the year we will start to worry!
Thanks for the great golf balls.
PS: I knew Mr. DeSourcy's son Joe, from Cape Cod, I believe his father was Titleist's chief engineer back in the early thirties: he was asked to double the golf ball production and invented the two time press, upstroke made a tray of balls and the down stroke made the second tray; very cool!
