Trust in the Clutch

I switched to a Titleist Pro V1 at the beginning of the summer golf season of 2009 right before a golf trip to Ireland. As I competed on the Cog Hill Junior Tour, a junior tournament series in Chicago I watched as in a matter of months I dropped six strokes off my handicap and found myself heading into the junior tour championship on the famed Dubsdread course with a slim lead in the Player of the Year points standings thanks to two victories and 4 top 5 finishes during the 8 regular season events. During the final round of the championship event i found myself a shot back of the player whom I narrowly held a lead over in the POTY standings with nine holes to play. Two birdies on the backside left me with a one-shot lead heading to the newly re-vamped 18th hole of Dubsdread. After a great drive I was left with 125 yards to the pin, a pin on the left side of a green protected by water on the entire left side. With the Player of the Year award on the line I knew I was a good wedge shot away from a championship. I was nervous but I knew if I hit the shot well my ball would land 5 yards passed the stick and spin back towards it. I stuffed the shot to ten feet and two-putted my way to victory. I learned to trust my Pro V1 last summer and it led me to a better all-around game and a championship. I trust my Titleist and I have the trophy to prove it.
