I have the opportunity to purchase a set of AP1 716 irons tomorrow at a great price. What I was wondering can the loft on the PW be adjusted to 44 & the W to 49? The shop said they thought the could but was wondering if any of you have had it done to your AP1 wedges?

I have done it but I think vokey can be adjusted 2 degrees in each direction or they can crack

I've had my 716 AP2s adjusted by a local professional, if fact it pays to have the loft and lies checked over time especially with forged clubs.
2 degrees is the maximum recommended by Titleist and many other club manufacturers.

I have the AP2s adjusted many times with great results. That is only a one degree adjustment on the P and a two degree adjustment on the W. This will also affect the bounce. One degree for one degree. You should be safe, if the individual is a reputable club repairer and they are a Titleist account. You do have to be a little more careful with the Vokey wedges.

My local shop refused to bend my AP1 714's because they said they had issues with the cavityback edges crimping. They said I would have to send them back to Titleist to have them bent.

I was able to get them adjusted 1 degree weaker so I went ahead and purchased them. Went out and played at my home course and shot a 77!! I love them and they have Kuro Kage 65 graphite shafts. First set with graphite and I love the feel of these irons!!

The lofts would've likely already changed from the original set-up, just through use on the course and range, its worth finding out the original loft and lie angle when the club was sold and take that info to the shop with you +/- 2degrees is standard a good pro will be able to help you.
