    Hi,

I was told that if a change the sure-fit weight on the head of my Titleist D2 Driver to a heavier weight it

will soften the shaft?  So if the shaft is playing a little to stiff, I can soften it by changing the weight..

Is this a true statement? and if so, how many grams should i add?  I have noticed that the Titleist weight kits

seem to be in increments of 2 Grams.  Is it really going to make a difference if I change the Red (9g) weight to the Blue(11g) weight..

Any help would be much appreciated..

    Thank you !!

Hi Marty, What the weights do is to change swingweight, which is how heavy or light the clubhead will feel at impact.  It will not change the flex of the shaft or make it softer.  Unfortunately, if the shaft is too stiff, thwre are only two options.  One is to order a softer flex and the other would be to add length to the shaft (at the expense of mishits and dispersion).
