I've got one in a 3 iron it's a KuroKage Tini like it real well but thinking about a recoil or a graphite design have tried them both and think they feel a little better

I use a 3, 718 T-MB as a driving iron. I had it ordered with a Tensi graphite shaft. I really like this club and it has quickly become my go to club. With the graphite shaft, I am able to swing the club consistently faster with plenty of control. I have Titleist 718 AP3 irons as well with the AMT steel shafts.

Good question I was wondering about this as well...was thinking of picking up a 2 t-mb iron for driving...I play my irons with the s300 shafts, would getting it in a steel stiff shaft or graphite stiff shaft be better?

I know I'm in the minority for "younger" golfers, but 6 years ago I went with graphite in all of my irons (except wedges). I personally love the feel from graphite shafts. Other than cost, I personally haven't seen any negatives with the switch.

Personally I think you should go for the same shaft as you've got in your other irons. If it was a 'driving iron', then i'd say probably say it's more like a hybrid so graphite would be the way to go.

My brother and mate both have 1 and 2 irons, they both have steel in these. One of them started with graphite but changed it for a steel shaft, so it had the iron like flight.

Ultimately if you can, try one with steel and one with graphite and see which performs/feels best.
  9. If you are higher speed, keep steel. If you have a bigger gap to 3 wood and want to stretch out your DI then try graphite.
  10. I have a Titleist 716 T-MB 3-Iron which I swapped out the stock steel shaft (TrueTemper Dynamic Gold AMT S300) for a Graphite Design Tour AD graphite shaft (75g/S-Flex/39-inches). I found that the graphite shaft provides a slightly higher ball flight trajectory (as compared to the AMT S300) which has given me more distance out of this particular iron. Graphite shafts are more versatile as it relates to customizing a ball flight that fits your specific club and style of game. Definitely something worth looking into.

Any thoughts out there on the Tour AD-DI 95 driving iron shaft? I've heard great things and I got fitted for it in my driver and it was a top contender in my 3 wood. I have not found a location that has a T-MB 3 iron with this shaft and I am looking for thoughts before I pull the trigger on this club.

I just ordered a set of 718 AP2 (4-9) and in my old set of 712 AP2, I had a 3 iron with DG s300 that I hit pretty well. A little extra forgiveness of the TMB is always needed though.

Have your authorized Titleist club fitter contact us and we can send it out for your scheduled fitting.
  14. I was just fit for a set of AP2s and wedges with Nippon pro modous3 tour 120x, also got a tmb 4 iron with the same shaft. I want to get a 2i TMB with a graphite shaft but my club has a limited Titleist fitting cart. Swing speed 120+ driver. 6 iron 200. Tend to release early, but hit a fairly straight stock iron shot. Recommendations? Can you send my club a few options to demo?

    Kindly

I have the 712U 2-iron and recently switched from the X-100 to the Aerotech SteelFiber i95 and could not be happier.

For reference, I have X-100 AMT in all my other iron shafts (except wedges that have the S400).
  16. Hi Cathi,

I have an iron & wedge fitting scheduled for June 14th at Manchester Lane. I currently play a 716 T-MB with Steelfiber 110X as my driving iron (2i), and will be looking to upgrade to either 718 T-MB, or AP3 in a single driving iron (likely 3i). My question is will the Tour AD DI 95X Driving Iron shaft be available to try on a T-MB or AP3 at Manchester Lane? How many graphite options will be available to try in driving irons during my fitting? I know it's tricky since the irons are .355 taper tip...

    Thanks,
    Nick

Hi Nick, ML does have T-MB's in 2 and 3 irons with the GDI 95 S and X flex shafts. They do not have AP3s.
