I did an offseason fitness program with my swing coach. He's TPI certified so I went through a series of those exercises and monthly screenings.

Here are my results: Lost 15 pounds! New golf attire! Added 5mph on my swing speed. More distance! Added half a club to a club to my iron distances! No longer sore after playing a full round. Had to get my irons adjusted back to standard lie now that my posture is better.

My scores haven't improved much as I need to get used to the new distance and get my feeling back with my putter.

TL;DR - Did offseason training, lost weight and added distance. Get fit in more ways than just your clubs.

Good going on your fitness training. It's great to feel good loosing weight and being in shape and having a great attitude. I do not have all the patience you do to have a fitness program so I admire what you did. For me to keep my weight down and stay fit I snow ski in the winter then naturally walk the golf course in which 5 miles walking is also a great exercise. Keep up the super work!!!!
  4. Great work, Brandon! I have been on a two year plan and have lost weight, gained swing speed, and have new found confidence in my game. Isn't it great to see things change and have renewed joy in the game we love!

    Enjoy!

It's time to reap the benefits of all that hard work. Don't worry, the scores will come. Congratulations on your results.

Awesome Job Brandon!!! The scores will come down. I struggled with a similar change as well. I dropped several pounds, became stronger and more flexible & had to go back to standard length, loft & lie from being 1/4" longer & 2 degrees up with my irons. It took me most of 1 season to get fully dialed in but it made a huge difference once I did. You'll get there I'm sure.......
