  1. Hello all,

Titleist has just released a limited run of AP2 and AP3...would anyone agree it would be cool to see an iteration of black muscle back irons?

I just wish Titleist would offer the black option when they initially introduce their new irons, instead of waiting a year.

I say leave the MB’s alone, keep the beautiful and traditional. I’d also say the black AP2s and 3’s should be released when the new version of the clubs come out, not a short amount of time before the new versions are released.

Leave the trendy black out look, fluorescent colors, multiple weights, carbon fiber heads, foam injections and all the other junk to TM, Cobra and Calloway.

I like the way Titleist has subtle looks and superior performance through their entire line of products.

  6. From a marketing perspective it’s kind of brilliant. A year into a release cycle and other companies are releasing their new stuff and garnering attention. Boom you jump into the fray with a special release for your two best clubs.

I also wouldn’t want to see black MB’s. I’m a fan of the classic look and don’t want to see them changed

I’ve had a few different sets of irons in the past with a black finish that fades and disappears over time (some faster than others). Is there anything unique about this finish to where it will last and look great after many rounds of use?

I’d worry about the wear and tear on the finish. Nothing like dropping a good chunk of coin and have them not look as good for the duration.

    IMO Black MB's never happen

I remember seeing a third party company taking 681s and putting a black oxide finish on them. Pretty sharp but I'm in agreement about the simple yet classic look.
