Does anyone know how much the Pistolini Plus grip weighs? I’m contemplating on placing a matador small on my Newport.

I'm kind of traditional in that regard, so I tend to use Scotty Grips. I have a Select Newport and a Super Select Newport 2+. I just switched the Pistolini grip to a Matador Mid last night. Also put an extra wrap of tape.

On another note,:
Recently was in a Golf Galaxy and for some reason there was a bunch of Tour Velvet 360 Flat Caps. I know it really does not make a difference, but I bought all of them, enough to regrip my woods for the next two changes. I'm just a little nuts that way. When my irons need grips I will have to settle for the regular TV 360's

Like Chuck said above, the first thing when I get a new Scotty is take off the old grip and put a new one on. In my case, I'm a Winn Dri-Tac fan. I put their midsize putter grip on.

One thing I'll add, I do my own grip changes. And what I hate more than anything is taking the factory grip with a Scotty. Trying to cut that thing off is like trying to cut through a car tire with a butter knife. I can generally regrip a club in about 5 minutes, doing a first time Scotty is usually 2-3 times longer.

It all comes down to what is most comfortable. I personally have medium matador grips on most of my Scottys

I am thinking on doing this also. I have the Scotty Cord grip and am wanting to change to the SS Pistol 1.0. I tend to push my putts and think the Pistol grip will held with keeping my hand square.

I just added this week to my Scotty, the Custom Shop release Paddle grip (L). Very similar to the Flatso grip. I'll report back what I think after a few rounds. Curious what others have thought if you've used it?

Yes, and I love it. I'm a "left hand low" putter, and the medium pistol feels great. Used superstroke pistol for years, and don't see myself going back.

Great point....I feel all grips are going way up in price these days. If something bothers you have ask yourself if your ego or wallet is going to hurt more? I prefer to use the best grip in my mind no matter what the cost on my clubs and putter...no shortcuts basically.

The Scotty grip can be "pulled" quite easily and kept if you want to use it at a future date. Watch the weight of the replacement grip is similar to the Scotty you are removing if you want a similar feel. The Superstroke Pistol 1.0 is a good match in my experience. A Superstroke Pistol 2.0 is lighter giving a heavier feel to the head if that is something you prefer. Both can have weight added. There are many other options as mentioned above.

I'm the odd one out. I tried the matador and a few other brands, but ended up putting the pistolero back on. I know grips can be pricey, but if you know it gives you the confidence standing over the ball more than a cheaper costing grip, you have your answer.

I put a SS Flatso 1.0 on my Newport 2+ and have been putting better than the OG Scottie grip. I did feel a little bad cutting off the scotty grip but the results are better so I can live with it.

First thing I did on my Newport + was rip the grip of and replace it with a png grip. For some reason I never liked the grips on the Scottie’s. Its your equipment don’t feel like you have to stick to a certain grip just because of the name on it.

When I get a new Scottie putter, off with the stock grip and one with a new GolfPride SNSR pistol or a SuperStroke 1.0 pistol.

I usually remove and replace with a superstroke 2.0 grip personally. Honestly, it's what steadies the knees when looking over that 6' putt.
