Yep, summer weekdays I usually walk the front nine alone in the evenings. Great stress relief after a long day at work.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the number of folks that have no issue going alone. My golf outings are so limited, I'm not passing up any opportunity to get out on the course so if friends and family are unavailable, I'm certainly teeing it up alone.

Just the course and it's surroundings & creatures is such a profound experience when going it alone. Nothing compares to it. I play plenty of rounds with others but I enjoy the solo rounds much more as I can enjoy the sunrise or sunset, the wild turkeys, deer, woodchucks and the fresh clean air.... so peaceful.

I enjoy the time to play by myself as well. Its just a great time to be present with yourself and just enjoy the game the way you want to. Could be playing multiple balls, hitting extra putts or maybe just taking in the environment.

I play my home course solo whenever I can. I usually play two balls just to give me practice for league and see the course from different angles.

I normally play 9 early morning at 0700, solo on foot for the exercise, practice, and a warm up April thru October. Then at 0900 usually join up with the geezer's in a cart. Through the winter if I'm in Alabama and playing the RTJ Trail I usually head out at 0700 for 18 on foot, usually solo.

I love that you use the 0700! Just makes going out to play sound like a mission! Awesome man

I actually prefer to play alone when I’m trying new things with my game. If I’ve been working in my swing and trying to play a fade versus draw I’ll do that when rolling solo and play 2 balls when I can. If I’m with a group I’m not really able to tinker with my game as much.

Also sometimes I don’t really feel like chatting. Golf is my therapy, a place to decompress and enjoy... doesn’t always work out that way when I three put. But you get what I’m saying.
  10. I prefer to play alone. I usually try to get out early in the morning so I can get ahead of everybody. Since I don't belong to a club with practice areas, and the range I go to doesn't have a lot of short game areas, the course is the only place I can get in the practice for the shots that I seem to have every time I play. Although I don't mind company, I like to play fast and it seems that the people I have been grouped with just kind of drift along with no sense of pace of play.

I like to get in 9 holes or more after work. That means playing by myself quite often. I enjoy it as much as playing with friends. I do score better playing alone. I think I concentrate more as there is nobody to talk to.

I play alone frequently after work. Great time to relax and work on your game.

I certainly enjoy my solo rounds and, if you play enough to improve, you’re going to play alone a lot.

While i love a round with a good group, music, drinks etc, I also love playing alone. Playing solo in the evening is an absolute joy. It certainly is therapeutic and a great way to unwind after work. It is a treat to have the quiet and beauty of the course and escape from the chaos of daily life. There is something special about being alone on the course, playing different shots and simply enjoying the game.

I play solo more often than with friends. Between kids and work its hard to align schedules. When i play solo, i also hit two balls primarily to get more practice, but also to see if different approaches make a difference.
  17. I like playing alone in the late afternoon/early evening. I enjoy just getting out and walking, hitting/working on shots. Usually it is 4-6 holes as our club has a few good short loops.

In my opinion playing alone is so relaxing. I've noticed when I make my worst shots playing alone, I am able to laugh it off easier.
