  1. I heard there might be a handicap that you will be able to purchase for around £40 a year for non-members.

This would be great for me as I've always wanted an official handicap but can't afford the membership fees for a club.

    What do you think?

In my area (Northern California), there are e-Clubs that a golfer can join which not affiliated with a particular club or course. The annual fees are usually around $70 and this gives you an official handicap

Wisconsin State Golf Association membership is only $40. No need to join a private club to keep a legit handicap.

Guys, I believe Alex is looking for something in his home country, not local or USGA based. I would venture to say he is UK-based as his question contains a reference to Sterling Pounds.

That makes sense...thanks for the clarification Dale
  6. Yes your quite right there. I read somewhere online about one being introduced in July I think I'm not but I think it would be great if they actually go ahead with it.

The point of my reply is that I believe there are options wherever you live, based on what we've got here in WI: WSGA, which utilizes the USGA system.

There must be options like that in the UK? Right? If not, that's really unfortunate.
