New Titleist GTS Drivers: What has you most excited to try it?

Whether it's TV coverage, social media, a tip from your local PGA pro, or something you overheard at the shop, what have you heard that has you fired up to try a GTS driver?

For me, it started with a text exchange shared during our Monday team catch-up meeting: a message from a prominent non-contracted Tour player to one of our Tour fitters. I won't share the exact words, but it's not every day a Tour player texts a club fitter like a kid on Christmas.

The other notable one for me was a common trend observed in early fittings. Tour players were registering faster swing speeds with GTS. We typically focus on ball speed gains for driver performance, but our Tour reps kept noticing something different than past launches: players were swinging harder. More stability. More confidence. More freedom to go after it.

And as an employee who has been fortunate to play a GTS3 in my last few rounds, I completely get it. For you that know me, I am not the most accurate driver of the golf ball. My first three drives with GTS3 found the fairway. Tension on the tee faded. The swing freed up. I've been letting it fly with GTS and gettings "oooohs" and "aaaahhhs" I haven't heard in years. I am in love.

I did the fitting for GTS. Normally they go fast but this fitting took an hour at a minimum. I would never consider the 4 in past models but they said around 20% were going into 4 this go around. It wasn't for me but I did actually hit it in the fitting whereas in the past it was a unicorn not even worth picking up to waggle.

As for shaping the 3 and 4 looked pretty much similar. The 4 is 460 cc this time not 440 cc as in the past.

I ended up going with a 3. The feel/ sound in the GTS is more of a solid sound not as much metal/ png sound if that makes any sense. I hit a couple off the toe and my ball speed was the same as when it was in the center which kind of shocked me.

The silver face of the fairways is new to get used to but I can't stress enough how excellent the new fairways sit on the ground. They don't sit closed they just sit so flush it gives a ton of confidence to you.

So excited to get to try this absolute beast of a driver! So pumped to try this thing and get to upgrade to it. Looking for more ball speed. And am excited to get more distance out of it. Titelist fitting soon to upgrade from my TM!!!

Thank you Titleist for the sticker pack I received in like December maybe... Haha. I had no clue what to do with the stickers as I didn't want to just place such a cherished possession just anywhere. I found just the thing for it today!

I love my GT2 driver and woods but I’m curious about the GTS 3. I want to gain a little more ball speed. My ball speed with the GT2 is by no means slow and my miss is right only which I love but I really wonder if the pros are worth the cons on the 3?

Hey Paul, I hope you’re doing well. Fall in East Texas is a special time and this event is happening at the perfect time. Everyone was excited when I announced Pine Dunes Resort would be our host course, so much so it sold out in 10 days.

Titleist at Tot Hill

Very much looking forward to the Architectural Series/Meet-Up at Tot Hill Farm coming up on Tuesday, May 5th. Weather is forecasted to be sunny and low 80s. Great course layout and the focus on the architect, Mike Strantz, is an added treat. I've played all of his designs except Stonehouse and he was a special course artist that we lost too early. Thanks Titleist for putting this together.

TT apparel to be released anytime soon?

Good call Dino and 2026 has a lot of events available this year. I have hats, shirts, golf balls, coffee cups, a backpack, golf bag, Christmas ornament, towels, ball markers, divot tools, bags tags, travel bags, headcover, the list could go on forever over fourteen years. Even got a pair of FJ shoes at a Vokey one day event at Pinehurst along with a custom wedge. You just never what is going to be in your registration package and of course, great people and golf courses.

They have Titleist logoed products but do not ship to the United States, but rather only inside Korea to their customers. Has to do with customs and tariffs. I did see any Team Titleist products. Currently, it appears the the only countries that have the TT icon on their site are as follows: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France and Sweden. All of those sites are only offering TT logoed golf balls at this time.

An announcement will be made when the products are available. Hakuna matata.

A PSA about your PSA.

Yes the title is correct, If you are getting up in age 60+ get your PSA levels checked. I did and am glad I did. Mine was high and yes it's cancer . Lucky it was caught early and I should be good to go in a couple months. No restrictions so I will be on the course through it all. A PET scan showed it was contained to the Prostate , a big relief on that. Not looking for anything from anybody just a heads up to all "seasoned duffers". Have fun and hit um straight.

And for the younger members, remember to check for lumps in your testes, similar to women's checking for breast cancer. That tends to hit 20-35 year olds and very good chances of a long life if caught early (I am now 30 years post surgery)

Excited to see this new 4 model. How could you not be?
I really do just wish the tech story came out with the initial release, but we'll have to wait for the fitting to see what the difference between the new 3 and 4 actually are. Right now it just looks like shaping, maybe size.

3 Clubs for a Round – How Would You Play It?

I was thinking recently about a 3-club tournament I played a few years back. The course was on the shorter side, roughly 5,800 yards. I decided to go with a 3-wood, 8-iron, and 54-degree wedge. I ended up using the 3-wood as a putter from longer distances and the 54-degree wedge as a putter from shorter distances.

Everyone in the event seemed to have a different strategy, which was part of the fun and really shows how much it comes down to what works for your game.

It got me curious. If you had to play 18 holes with just 3 clubs, which ones would you choose? Or if you’ve played in a similar event, what clubs did you decide to go with?

Round of my golfing career

Hi TT:

This year had a slow start, my trusty T100S were balky, and I was doubting my abilities and in the back of my mind considering a fitting. After the last 2 days, they will be staying put in the bag. After several sessions in the range, I realized they were waiting for the golfer who bought the sticks to show up. Yesterday in our men's league kickoff scramble, I won 2 closest to the pin par 3s, 8i and 6i, with a combined distance of 6 ft. Today I happily posted my career low round of an even par 71. It only took 56 years of playing this great sport, but persistence is an inherited trait from my dear departed father. In the words of the late great Jimmy V., "Don't give up. Don't ever give up.
