  1. So with the new season upon us what will be your 3 main Goals for the season ?

    Background

We all love playing this wonderful game ( or frustrating , depending on your views ... lol )

Each year I set myself targets that so far helps improve my grasp of the game. Finally after lots of practice over those years I had probably my best season last year, I started on a handicap of 21.6 and finished the season obtaining a handicap of 16.2 so it has made me hungry to achieve more and become a better player...... This years goals are below and would be great to hear other peoples goals they want to achieve this season

    1. Handicap :

Current 16.2 - my goal is to get down to 11 if not 10 , a big ask but if I can do it once I have to believe I can achieve again.......

    2. Short Game :

Not in bad shape but as an amateur my biggest issue is duffing the approach shot as I feel sometimes I need to swing faster / harder to achieve, Learning quickly that slow and easy helps eliminate bad shots , just need to be more consistant

    3. Break Milestone Score

I regularly hit 87-89 and breaking 80 can sometimes seem impossible? setting my goal to break 85 then 82. I would like to consistently shoot in that range. hopefully one day in 2019 I will be shooting numbers I didn’t think were possible 2 years ago. If I can continue to bring my handicap down , then hopefully this score is achieveable , with lower handicap hopefully come lower scores - but above all I will be having FUN whilst playing

All the best to my fellow TT members , hope you all have a good 2019

  2. WBingham

    WBingham
    North Curry

Current goals for me are as follows-

    1. To make sure I get a positive in every round, whether thats a put, drive, attitude. Something to make sure I've enjoyed one shot in the round.

    2. Get handicap down from 16 to 11

    3. Play more courses

  3. blair

  4. - Get myself to 5 from 7 (got from 10 to 7 in 2018)
    - Win the B Class Club Championship
    - Beat my lowest scratch score of 74

  8. Goals for 2019

Enjoy the game and not get bogged down by it all

Reduce handicap below 5 (currently off 6)

Focus of wedge play 50 yards and in.

Good luck to all TT members of their goals.
  9. 2019 could be a strange but very satisfying year
Plenty of golf to be played at the moment thanks to the mild weather and a good number of clubs running Winter Opens to keep competitive

My goals for the year are as follows

    1. Have a double Hip replacement and recover full fitness to attend a golf weekend in May. Just to be able to play pain free without being pumped with Ibroprofen is a goal in itself!
    2. Reduce my handicap from 9.7 to 6 with better approach iron play the priority to achieve this
    3. Tick off more bucket list courses. Team Titleist will run another event to attend hopefully and an overseas golf trip sounds like a good summer to keep me out of trouble !

Good luck to every TT member and may your Goals keep you focussed on the big Prize!

Thought I’d replied to this, but I’ll have another go...
As I mentioned on 2018 thread, I’ve been suffering from increasingly bad arthritis and medication has only added to the limiting effect.
So my main aim is to just keep playing and enjoying my golf. I’d like to get fitter and more flexible, so I’m seeing a personal trying to keep up the motivation as I’m really not a gym person!
I’d like to play more new courses, especially older ones designed by Braid, Mackenzie etc and meet up with more TT members...

    Team Titleist for the win!!

  16. 2019 Goals for me;

    1) Play alot more Comps 20-30
Last year I was unable to play many as I was working on swing changes with a coach. Much better place now. More confident.

    2) Reduce handicap from 9 now to 7.

    3) Better Practice - Started writing out a Plan before Practice to have a Goal at the end instead of just hitting shots. Eg, do certain movements, time specific sections in practice etc

    4) Improve Stats. GIR , FIR , PUTTS

Best of Luck to all TT members this Season

    Go Low

    Dos
  17. 2018 was a good golfing year:
Gross Club Champ, Medal Final winner, 3 opens won. A new low round of -4 (did it twice in 2 weeks)
    2019
A new home course is on the cards, so hopefully I can push just as hard.
Plan is too push the handicap down to 2 or lower (currently 3.7 after a poor finish to the year)
New woods will hopefully give me a solid base (always been worst part of my game).
Going to try and tick off a few more top100 courses too.
