I see a lot of advantages in using 7 wood. Easy to hit, high trajectory with an excellent stopping capacity on greens. This club works better when golfer is getting holder and the speed swing is decreasing.
The only negative aspect is when you are playing with a lot of wind. For those days, I use hybrid ts2 21 deg. with a lower trajectory.
    I appreciate the 21 deg tsr2 a lot.

    Carry three fairways - 3, 5 & 7. Much prefer my 7 over a hybrid.

Not to hijack this thread but I am looking to fill a "hole" in my bag and between a TSR2 5 or 7 wood. Right now I have a Driver, 3W, and 4H. Obviously tons of variables to consider. Eventually getting fitted but that is on the side burner for now. In the meantime, what would you think would make more sense between the 5W and 7W? Figured I would leave that here for discussion as I try and make a decision.

We really can’t give you the best information. Assuming the hybrid is 21 degrees and the 3W is 15 degrees, the 5W (18 degrees) is between the 2. The variables we don’t know what the distance and launch conditions of your 3W. Nor what you would get from the 5W. Most golfers hit a flatter 3W than a 5W and may not get enough distance between the 2.

The buzz about the 7W is it provides a high flight that will hold greens. Without any knowledge of your flight and carry and what job the tool is to perform, Best to get an outdoor fitting and determine what distance and landing angle you expect if you go for the green with any of the clubs asked for here.

If I want to do a 10 club bag, will pull the 5 and 9 woods and use a 7, plus pull the L grind wedge. For ages I've carried a lofted driver, 7 wood and 27H. Irons had been 7-9 plus wedges.

    I did a fitting for TSr woods. Driver (9*), 3-wood (13.5*) and 7-wood (21*).
The 7-wood will be my 200-210 m (carry) club. I really liked it. How easy it was to get the ball in the air.
  7. I have been using a 7wood for several years. Very easy to hit, easy to get in the air. Between hybrids and woods, the lowest iron I have in my bag is the 7iron.

I discovered 7 woods back in 2007. My dad gave me a 975F 16.5 and 20.5 that I played for 3 years. I went to a 910F 19 in 2012 (carried a 9 wood with it until 2014 or so). My combination between 2015-2018 was a 910F 21 fairway and 910H 27 hybrid. Since about 2019 I have been using a 910F 21 fairway and 816H1 25 and 27 hybrids. As one can see in my thumbnail, I have a 34* hybrid (used to use them up until 2015 and then went to carrying a 6 iron). I still have my 910F 21 (with an Ilima R) and just upgraded to TSR1 20 and 23 fairways and 26 hybrid. I also have a TS2 18 fairway (set to 19.5). I've almost eagled a few par 4s with my 7 wood and came 3 feet from a hole in one with it. The 9 wood is a welcome return. I recently found a Sumo2 SQ 34 with a stiff shaft. Between 2020 until recently, played 695MB 7-P with my other wedge lofts at 52-58-64 (54-10S and 60-14K both bent 2* strong).

  9. As others have said, I have gone back and forth over the years. In general I find I get more distance with the 7 wood and more workability with the hybrid. Both work fine, it is a matter of which is more important for you.

Does anyone know the volume in cc's for the TSR1 20* head and the TSR2 21* head?

The TSR2 head is also about 1.5 swingweights heavier. The installed shaft on the TSR2 at the store is a 65g Tensei 41.25" With the TSR1 head, the swingweight was D1.0 and D2.5 with the TSR2 head. I was choosing between the two at the hitting bay at Golf Mart. The Titleist page doesn't mention the volume.

Did an iron fitting a couple of weeks ago. At the end, he asked if I wanted to look at anything else. I mentioned that I was playing a 910h hybrid and would consider replacing it. After seeing me hit a few with it and looking at the numbers, he handed me a 7 wood. It didn't take long to realize it was a good idea. My order was delivered to the club today and can't wait to pick everything up.

I have had my TS2 7W in the bag ever since the TS collection has released. It has been my favorite club in the bag by far. I switch between the 2 iron and 7 wood depending on the course, but it is hard to take the 7W out the bag. Looking down on it, whether it is off the tee or in the fairway, makes me comfortable before hitting the shot. I felt at ease looking down at the 7W rather than looking at a hybrid. I guess the bigger head makes me feel more comfortable? Definitely my favorite club!

I bought the TSR2 7 wood back. When I played yesterday, the TSR1 7 wood (D3 setting 20.75) was hitting the same distance as a TS2 18 fairway (A3 setting 19.5). I returned the TS2 fairway and got a nice small bag and a box of golf balls in trade.
