  1. Does anyone use iron covers to protect the irons in your bag, after all the drivers/hybrids and putter all have covers, why not the irons ?

I have always used the neoprene soft iron covers - protects the shafts of all the clubs in the bag. When I use an iron I slip the cover in my pocket and replace it after each shot.

yes, I've used the neoprene sift covers also.

I have been told though - if after your round, it has been raining and the club's are wet, do not keep the neoprene covers on them for any length of time.
"seemingly" this can accelerate rusting or tarnishing of them.
  4. i use soft covers for my irons stops the bag clatter and after a bit you can tell the clubs you use the most by the covers that are worn more than others
  5. Yes I use neoprene covers to protect my irons
When playing in the rain(typical west of Scotland weather)I remove after round.

I actually have some black and silver neoprene iron covers with Titleist in silver on the side but don't use them for the reason Gary mentions above.

Where are you base? I live in Inverclyde and play Greenock GC. Our weather generally sucks, thank goodness for FJ wet gear.
