Well, the ball is the only piece of equipment you use for every shot so you need to get it right. Personal budget and volume of lost balls might factor into your decision. If you don't loose many, buy the best ball, either the ProV1 or ProV1x. Use the ball selector tool on the website to help you find the one for you. If you loose a dozen every time you play and you have limited income, the TruFeel are good starter balls until you are ready to move up. Most importantly, welcome back to the game.

Check out the ball selector tool on Titleist's site, you'll input some of your game characteristics and it will make a recommendation.

If you can, buy a few sleeves of different Titleists and evaluate on the course. You'll definitely find one you like. After being out of the game for so long, a lesson with a PGA Professional may help too. Not only will he or she help with any swing issues, based on what the person is seeing, they'll be able to make an informed recommendation about the type of ball that may help your game.

Loyal to the titleist brand. If ProV's are out of budget, Titleist has many other options that are still as good. If it says Titleist, you can't go wrong...unless you slice it out of bounds LOL

Quality of Titleist balls are second to none

If you're just getting back in to it, why don't you go to a place that sells "found" balls? But make sure it's a Titleist since they really are the best you can buy. When you start losing less, treat yourself with a nice sleeve or case

Welcome back to the game! Like some before, the ball selector roll would be a great tool to help. It sounds like you’d prefer a softer feel ball, try some of those. As mentioned if budget is of concern then go more the consult route, if not, many golf stores sell sleeves of balls you could try against one another.
