With the golf season coming to an end at most courses in Canada on October 31st, what type of off-season plans for keeping your golf game sharp?

What kind of exercises and training regimen would be recommended? Does anybody think it is worth going to a flight simulator all winter? Where I live, I would have to drive 3-4 hours to Kelowna to use one.

I have started to look for golf related training online, like TPI for tips.

I go to the indoor simulators once a week to retain muscle memory in my swing as well as work on little changes or tweeks to my swing.

I spent last winter hitting ball at an indoor simulator. The result was a good swing path, but it also damaged my rotator. There is no doubt in my mind that hitting balls off the mats is what damaged my shoulder. Unless your indoor range has really good soft mats to hit from, I would highly advise playing your shots off of tees and pretend you are playing par threes. Myself - I am taking the winter off this year to heal. No hitting balls apart from putting in the basement. That should pay off as almost half the game is putting anyway :)
  4. Hopefully, we have a mild winter and we manage to get a few games in around snow storms. There is a course outside of London, built on sand, and they stay open until December, and then if the snow melts early they are remarkably dry. Not only is the course playable, but the greens are usually rolled if not cut, and they are as good as some courses in mid summer. Unfortunately, it is 45 minutes from my house, but it is a great course to play late and early season.
I don't play indoor golf, and I hope like hell I don't get injured playing hockey to the effect that if will alter my golf game.

There's a course in Ajax that's open all year round. $20 all you can play!
