  1. Nights are getting longer, and frost delays are going to be the norm moving forward. However, I love Fall golf. Shooting good scores while fighting the elements and course is always fun. Trying to get as many rounds in as possible before the greens get punched.

Hey Bob... Fall golf is truly a great pleasure as one gets to enjoy the trees changing colour and catching the views under a variety of sun angles. Our green are being punched this week. They had planned on doing them a week or two ago, but had to put it off due to all the rain we were having up here. Our greens have been in exceptional shap this season so we have faith in our greens crew in that they know what they are doing :)

I too am trying to get as many rounds in as possible. I'm losing a few ProV1X's in the fairways though, its hard to see the ball with all the leaves. Time to get some Yellow ones.

Fingers crossed that winter holds off a few more weeks as we finally will get that Cabot trip done next weekend.

We are not there yet. Leave San Diego Wednesday night for Philly. Philadelphia to Halifax Thursday morning and meeting up with one of my TT buddies, (Steve Rooks) and drive to Cabot Thursday afternoon. Cabot Links on Friday and Cabot Cliffs on Saturday. Back home Sunday. I will have some TT gear in my bag just in case a TT member happens by the resort and want to buy me a beer. :)
  7. I think they have Fall rates, but it is still not cheap. I have been told both courses are amazing.

Cheap is a relative term for me when playing bucket list courses. I can always spend money on something but the memories are priceless. I had a rescheduled reservation from last year so the deposit and rates were honored. Their best room (Deluxe King Balcony) for $280 CAD and golf $110 CAD. Since my deposit was for two rooms and green fees in advance 2 years ago, after food and incidentals, I only had to pay $150 CAD more to close out my bill. Airfare even all the way from San Diego was not too bad. The rental car was probably the biggest expense since I reserved an SUV not knowing how bad the roads would be and how much space we would need. All in all, well worth the expense and we really lucked out and had pretty good weather. A bit of wind on the second day but no rain at all. Enjoyed the hospitality of our Northern North America friends. Bundle up and keep the fireplace going.

    Bragg Creek,

Sadly, the season is done here in Alberta. I played Kananaskis last weekend as a great end to the year. Off to the simulator I suppose!
  10. As long as we don’t have snow, and the wind is not too cold, I will be playing outdoors. Not a fan of the simulator.

Hoping for another month and a half here in the most southern part of the country. It has been extremely dry here so the courses are playing fast and firm right now. Hopefully the dry and firm conditions continue for a little while.

A few more weeks left here in the Ottawa region. I too will play as long as the snow is not flying. This past weekend was amazing with the warmer trend and the fall leaves. Just about to update the sim room. Just about time to move indoors for the winter. Enjoy the courses while we can!

There was a frost delay this morning for a bout 90 minutes. Started off quite cold but by 11 am was almost 12/13 degrees.

Beautiful weekend here in the Ottawa Valley. Low 20s C (Mid 70s) and bright sunshine. Amazing weather for this late in the fall! Take it while we can!

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a closing round of golf. A good percentage of the players out on the course were in shorts and loving it ! For me - it was my last round for the season. I took a fall reaching for a rake outside of the bunker and badly hurt the shoulder about three weeks ago, but I was determined to get in one more 18 hole round. With such perfect weather, October 29th turned out to be that day ! Time to set up the Basement Golf and Country Club and start working on honing the putting skills for the 2023 season :)
