Is attending a Titleist Thursday enough time to do a full fitting for irons? Full specs to place an order?

They run between 45 minutes to an hour. Works for irons if you go in with some idea of what you want (blade, high forgiving, etc.). They can have you trying a couple of head styles and 3 or 4 shaft variations. If you still feel uncertain or rushed, you can schedule a more detailed fitting for a fee at several other locations or the ultimate fitting at the TPI.
  3. Thanks for your contributions to the TT forum.

I'mcurrently five handicap returning to golf for my third season back after thirty eight years of not playing. Was a two when I quit playing in 1980, (graduated from Univ Wisconsin and began career) and have been working to get back to that level of play.

I'm playing the cally Epic Flash Hybrids having been fitted by Golftec about a year ago. Frankly, not happy that I moved away from Titleist. Have been hitting the demo club, 21 degree TS2 = love it...slightly more "metallic feel and sound off club face" than current cally.

Here's the question...have a fitting with a local guy who is a Titleist fitter mid week...thinking of moving to the TS2 as I sweep the ball. Do you have any experience with the TS2? Thinking 19, 21, 25 loft to replace my three cally Flash Hybrids. Thanks, curious to hear what you might think...Brian Hale

Yes, absolutely enough time. And, there is never any pressure to buy anything there on the spot. If you are not comfortable with what the fitter recommends or you didn’t like how you were hitting it that day, you can always make another appointment and do a second fitting on another day. The Titleist fitters do a great job in making sure you are properly fit and happy with your results. For your irons, I would definitely recommend getting fit outside, hitting off grass, not a mat.

Yes. I did mine irons/hybrids a couple of years ago and had no problem. Going this week for a wedge fitting.

Time is typically between 30 & 40 minutes and usually the fitter will have you hit a 7 iron from multiple models (T100, 100S, 200, 300, etc...) with multiple shafts & flexes. He/she will look at your tracman numbers to see which combo gives your the best performance and will then make a head/shaft recommendation.

Yes. I went about my Iron fitting this way. Although we went a little long the fitter took the time to make the necessary suggestions. I had the discussion with him prior on the phone and he suggested taking the last spot of the day so "if" we went long there was no one behind me and he would stay longer to complete the fitting. I also suggest completing this on an actually range off real grass vs. being inside on a trackman or something similar

I went to a wedge fitting and well...it was ok. Started with a few shots on the launch monitor to see how far I hit my set pitching and gap wedges. The fitter then handed me wedges to hit without telling me what the bounce and grind was that I was hitting. On each club I hit a couple of full swings and then a couple of pitches. In the end I discovered which ones I hit the best. He was very good about explaining the grinds etc and why they worked or did not work for me. The problem was that only hit from a tight fairway type lie and did not hit any sand shots or shots from long grass.

Before I purchase, I hope that I can find some demo clubs that I can try out on the course.
  9. cant wait for things to open back up, looking forward to getting my first fitting.

I would consider it a success. I tried just about everything in the bag I wanted to try.

I got a new driver, full set of T100 irons, and two Vokey wedges.

I would say it's probably better to focus on max two areas else you'll get tired from all of the balls being hit, but it was my one chance and I made the most of it. Very happy with the clubs!
  11. Any idea when Titleist Thursdays will be back?
