Does anyone know if Titleist has shaft pureing as an option when ordering clubs directly from Titleist?

When I was fortunate enough to tour the Carlsbad club assembly plant, that topic came up and the Titleist manufacturing experts did not endorse nor do they perform shaft "puring" when assembling your clubs. They do check the golf and lie on each club as they put them together. The days of shaft manufacturing with large welds down the spleen have gone away. The shaft balance is so refined now that the alignment of the seam is not really a performance issue anymore. Some shafts are not even manufactured with a seem anymore. They are stretched out from a circular block of steel. That's about all I know to tell you.

To add to Dale’s explanation, Titleist has dozens of work stations in Carlsbad Any station may be building stock retail sets or fulfilling custom orders on any given day. Orders placed direct through Titleist get the same care as custom orders placed through authorized dealers. Which is a significant portion of their club sales.

    Hi,

If the shafts are so refined, why the wobbled when using the F.LO. method?
Some manufacturers are making better shafts (tighter tolerance) than others.

There are positive and negative to do it.

One of the major negatives are cost of puering and the fact that you could not modify the surefit’s position because the shaft would not be in the correct position.
FLO method on irons is not expensive and I believe it could help to ameliorate contact.
I understand that manufacturers should faced an additional charge due to the increase time to assemble the club.

I would like to know the position on this subject by some Tour’s players who are in favor or against this subject.
