  1. Will T100 irons built by Titleist with +.5" long shafts play true to flex?

The additional length will have little to no effect on flex, however, swing weight will increase 3 swingweight points and the playing lie will 1 degree upright. you can request a specific swing weight and they will build to that specification or advise if they can't meet it. Lie adjustment is no problem within 2 degrees flat or 4 degrees upright, but, they will not make that adjustment unless you request it.

Should maintain flex The length is adjusted from the butt end. Hard/soft stepping flex is adjusted by trimming on the tip first.

Being taper tip softstepping is accomplished by installing a longer iron shaft into each iron. For example if you put a six iron shaft into a seven iron head that is softtstepping 1X (softstepping one times)- installing a five iron would be softstepping 2X i.e. softstepping two times. Depending upon the shaft 2 - 3 times = I full flex.

Hard stepping would be the opposite.

    Hi,
To be clear, there are not a uniform standard to stiffness of golf shafts.
In general, a stiff from Nippon Modus is softer than a KBS.

But to answer to your question, the irons from Titleist use a tappered shaft. The trimming to adjust the length is done by cutting the but. Never cutting the tip of these shaft.

Now, the stiffness is mesure by CPM machine. This is giving the cycle per minutes.
If you have 2 similar shafts for a 6 irons and one is shorter than the other one. The CPM on the short shaft should be higher than the cpm on the longer shaft. Higher CPM means more stiffness. This mesure is calculate from the butt.
The longer shaft should be just a little more flexible than the shorter one.
This open the conversation on another subject, « hardstep for shaft ».

    Best regards,

What did your fitter say? Personally I always go to my fitter and I trust him with my setups. If the numbers are there on Trackman and we are getting the results, I am happy. Just my two cents worth. Am retired and want it simple for me.
  7. Hi, when i had mine fitted, i am 0.75 and it did make a difference to me. My fitter has a few different shafts at the extra length so got me fitted exactly. I would 100% recommend getting fitted by somone
  8. And mine were t100s so very simular
