I booked my fitting through Titleist.com, paid a $100 fitting fee, and was told that fee would be fully credited toward my club purchase. After my session, I built the exact same set on Titleist.com (no promo codes, free shipping on orders over $175 and saw a subtotal of $3,047.00.
My pro-shop quote? $3,446.00 (plus shipping billed separately)—almost $400 above both the online subtotal and the clubs’ MSRP.
Everything selected during the fitting was standard—no premium upgrades or custom fees mentioned—yet the shop’s price is significantly higher.
Has anyone else experienced:
- A large markup between Titleist.com pricing and your fitter’s quote?
- “Pro-shop handling” or hidden fees that push you above MSRP?
- Strategies for locking in true online pricing through your local fitter?
Would love to hear your experiences and tips. Let’s bring transparency to our fittings!
