Pro v1 392 (1999 Ryder cup?)

    So this is pretty random but someone may have a little insight on this. Long story short, I caddied for a good friend of mine in the US am at Brookline several years back and found this ball buried in the woods off one of the holes during a practice round. My question is, could it have possibly been used by a player during the 1999 Ryder cup? I’m not sure what year this variation of the pro v1 came out and if it would match up with the year of the Ryder cup. I know it’s a long shot but just thought I’d ask. Thanks

    Wasn't the Prov1 released in 2000? Or maybe the pros had the prototype for the Ryder Cup?

    Tried to post a response and screen froze. I believe the Prov1 was first released in 2000, so probably not available for 1999 Ryder Cup. Unless the pros had prototypes?

    There was release of this in 1999. I google ages and found chart and release date of this model:

    The website above is a good start to learning the history of the Pro V's, both Pro V-1 and the Pro V-1x.
    The "black" Pro V-1 was first introduced in 1999. Prior to introducing the "red" Pro V-1x in 2003, Titleist released two test/prototype golf balls. One went to the general public was with a sidestamp with an "*" asterik, the other had a "diamond" symbol in the sidestamp, went out to only the PGA professionals.

    For the most part the sidestamp is or has been changed every two years, along with the componets of the ball.
    I have been fortunate to acquire every Pro V1 and Pro V1x manufactured since 1999, (used but in fair condition) to present, with the exception of the ball with the diamond.

    Anyone have or know how I can acquire this ball? Years ago I spoke with several different "titleist" rep's that did not even know this history. Thanks

    P.S. I am originally from Arnie Palmer's hometown and went to the same high school....
