I'm fortunate enough to be given some Proto's to test. After a few weeks of testing, kudos to the whole Titleist ball team for putting together another great product. I found playability and feel to be on par (no pun intended) with my current gamer (ProV1) and I also gained a few yards. I use a game tracker device on my clubs and the data shows consistent yardage gains.
  3. I felt that both balls were consistent with past excellent products. I personally felt that both balls seemed a little bit softer. This worked especially on the short game shots around the green. On the other hand I felt that I gained 2-4 yards more distance with each club. All my clubs are Titleist and the consistent yardage is what I always need to be competitive. I am amazed how they continue to develop new balls that improve our games.

I was able to try 1 of each yesterday before our Ohio weather changes. I really liked them both and do see improvements in ball flight. Spin is always there with either on inside 100. I plan on getting both when they come available . Thanks again for the opportunity to be involved.

  6. Its been never for me. I could be wrong but I think Titleist favor the lower handicap players. So at a 15 I will never see anything.

Handicap wasn't even a consideration for these deliveries.

Like Allan says, I am living proof that Titleist does not hate us novice players. I play to a 12 and many days can barely hit it out of my shadow. It's really about getting involved in as many ways as you can. My test balls came from attending the outing at Streamsong. Yes, there is a significant fee to go to these events but I have realized over the years, the money will get spent on something, it might as well be on something that provides lasting memories and a chance to interact with other TT members. The test balls are just the gravy on my chicken-fried steak. The real meat is the TT brotherhood.

I can testify that handicap is not a consideration - I’ve been a 2 time winner and 15 is my goal. To at least be in a very large pool for a then random selection, a complete profile, some participation on social media, and the ball selection on your profile can improve your chances. To note, it is also likely you’d be in the pool for the upgrade to your current ball. Velocity users would be more likely to get that upgrade version rather a Pro-V prototype. And vice-versa. At least that’s why I got NXT Tour the first time and Pro-V1 next.
  10. I’m scratch and have never been chosen lol
  11. Titleist is very fair about testing. Heck, I have a 25+ handicap, and I'm 75, but I received a sleeve of ProV1s to test.

I have tested in the past and only got my hc to a 9 in last 2 years. That has nothing to do with why you weren’t chosen. Just be patient and maybe one day you will get to test.

Hi, just wondering whether white boxes have been sent out to testers in the UK yet please?

You should try the Pro V1 & I can guarantee you’ll notice a positive difference. Around the green there is no better ball

SO DISAGREE!!!!!! They only have so many to hand out and not everyone get's picked. Handicap 19, age 76. Am very active on the site and attend events. Got two boxes, one of each to test and responded with my findings as I always do and said thank you. Those of us who attended the event in September were a mixture of all handicaps. We all had a few things in common; our love for this site and the fellowship of it's members. The TT staff are FAIR and do an outstanding job. Tread lightly on unfamiliar territories. Just sayin'

I have been a TT member for a short time compared to some of the guys I met at the Streamsong event. I honestly didn't join TT for the free stuff or to be a tester. Figured my chances were very low and don't lose sleep over it. I can say attending local or national events help as well being active on this forum.

I did get some test sleeves in the mail. I am a plus handicap so can tell you that handicap plays no factor in this. My review of the ball will be different than a 20 handicapper will be given I am looking for smaller things than just "it goes farther!" That is what Titleist wants, a cross section of the golfing public. ProV1 and 1x are played by so many golfers of different abilities for different reasons. It's why Titleist is the #1 ball in golf.

Getting asked by Titleist to test product or attend special fittings or products launches is the cherry on the sundae for me. It's not why I joined this site and not what keeps me in Titleist product. I'm here because Titleist products allow me to play my best each and every time I put a tee in the ground. I know what I am getting in Titleist, regardless if I am a tester or not.

Me too. I keep wondering why. I thought I did everything right the first time.

No worries, my hat is always off to TT.

As stated above, even with TT members filling out the request to be a tester, there were literally thousands that applied. Titleist took that list and did random drawings for mail outs. It still comes down to basically a lottery pick, just like getting to play the Old Course at St. Andrews. You can pay for a guaranteed tee time there just as some paid for the TTI outing and received test balls. Sorry that you did not get an opportunity this time but maybe the next batch will come your way.

Played the 348 Proto today for 9 holes today.

    My initial Feelings:

    1. Very stable in the air...held line very well.
    2. Very good feel with woods and irons.
    3. Felt kinda firm with putter.
    4. Course was very wet today...ball preformed very well in poor conditions.
    5. Excellent durability!!!

    That's all for now.

    Cheers,
    Dr. K
  23. Always a tremendous Joy when that package shows up at your house and you think wait what I ordered isn't supposed to be delivered until tomorrow?
Then you see the sender is Acushnet and you're filled with joy knowing it's Titleist white box prototype Pro V1 and pro v1x season!

My white box had two sleeves in it this year as opposed to one in the past. Glad I get to try both and even cooler they are listed as prototypes with their numbers

Thanks Allan, Played the 348 and the 388 and the 348 does go a little further off the Tee. The spin on the greens was there with both.
  26. I was fortunate enough to test a sleeve last year. This is such a cool program that Titleist does for their members!
  27. I've only played 1 ball of each so far. I have to admit to being skeptical since my Pro V1 already is rock solid for me.

I added at least 7 yards to my drive with the new pro v1, I didn't notice any changes in the feel, my 30-40 yard pitches were higher than usual. I was surprised at the length addition because it was raining but the ball didn't seem to care. I used shot scope so I could figure out how much longer I was off the tee, I didn't need any tech to see the changes in my wedges.

I was +4 off the tee with the vx, I hit some great lob shots with it. I'm not sure if that was just more confidence or what but that was fun.

2023 Pro V1 and Pro V1x made their Tour debut a few weeks ago at the Sanderson Farms Championship. A week after that, 2022 Team Titleist Invitational attendees received these new 388 and 348 protos (in reference to their dimples) for testing as well.

And the White Box Golf Ball Testing party is just getting started. Last week we deployed thousands of white box sleeves to loyal Team Titleist members. While the number of recipients is far greater than in years past, please note sleeves will still only reach a fraction of the Team Titleist audience.

The wider group of recipients will be provided with an official review thread in the coming weeks. Until then, we hope you enjoy the testing process and look forward to your feedback!

Received white sleeves, hopefully get some better weather for testing.

If so (and probably yes) you will see info from Will on the United Kingdom/Ireland treads. Keep an eye out there for updates.

I hope to be included this year! It's always fun to be a part of the testing group and to be able to add results. The last time I was a tester, I got my first hole-in-one!
  33. I snuck out for 9 yesterday, for the main purpose of testing the new ProV1. It seems like I gained a few yards, which is always welcomed at my age. Also looked like the ProV1x was a little higher for me which I appreciate. It’s pretty amazing to me, how your team improves on this ball. Great work Titleist!

Lucky enough to test this year. Jut submitted my survey. I saw increased distance with both. The trajectory seemed to be the biggest difference (high versus more penetrating). Out here in the desert I need low so it runs so that stood out. I felt spin on the greens was similar.
Really enjoyed the process of testing (not sure the groups behind me enjoyed me hitting multiple, similar shots so I let several play through). Overall a very cool experience. Thanks so much!
  35. Congrats to all those fortunate enough to receive these to test. I am not one of those but look forward to hearing the feedback.

I left two at Cabot if you want to drive over there. Good luck finding them. I tried my best. :) And, Steve might have left a few over there too.

Indeed, lost a couple due to those dang Taylor Made Clubs (Story soon to follow).
Played in the wind day one with nothing but ProV1 Proto and the second day in the rough winds I played the same protos and last years version. I do think the control and distance were improved with the protos, and my own Titleist Clubs. Awesome trial, went all the way to Nova Scotia to try them, fantastic idea, thanks Dale.

Played one of each today in ohio. At least 15mph wind with gust to 25. Each ball kept a nice flight whether into or down wind. Even with sanded greens they both held nicely. Temp was 48 and the X did feel a little hard.

I've been playing one of each type now for the past couple of weeks, alternating them during the round. I also used one of the 348 Protos alternating with my current Pro V1x for a few of rounds, including at Streamsong. I have noted that the 348 Protocol does fly higher than the 388 Proto, as expected. Both have been stopping quite quickly for me, something that has not been the case for many years, so I am happy with the new balls. I find I play better with the 348 Proto (V1x), so I'll be sticking with that for the foreseeable future.

Comparing the 348 Photo to the current Pro V1x, again, I've gained some distance, noticed a bit higher flight, and improved stopping. I also find the new balls more durable than the current ones, so thanks for that, Titleist.
