I now understand the hair nets. Stewart Cink was at the ProV Pre-Launch yesterday and they had him hit a ball with no dimples. Everyone knew what was going to happen. The big surprise was they also had some where the dimples on one side were smaller, less than the diameter of a human hair. The ball made a significant turn compared to his normal ball flight. Quality control with Titleist is imperative and their number one priority. I now have seen why first hand and why we all wear those hair nets.

I heard this on the tour, but it was said again at Wednesday’s program. One significant point of the Titleist quality control is the solid inner core of the X. Most 4 piece balls have a single solid core and a double mantle. Including the top competitor that famously failed quality control with a dual core. The next release has 2 mantle layers. That Titleist has and continues to sell a true dual core for 20 years is a testament to their diligence to quality.
