Anyone with any practical experience? Avx spins well for me on the courses I play. Is the proV the old black dot

I think you mean "left dot"? The new ProV1 does perform closer to the left dot and several Pros who played left dot have moved to the new ProV1. AVX will still be a little lower flight and less spin ball than the new ProV1.

When you say "Plays closer", what do you mean? I played the left dot and i have never hit a better ball. I absolutely love it and really am dying to see this ball get released in its current form or possibly an improved form (if thats possible).

Why did pros move to the Prov 1 and not stick with the left dot?

The ‘23 Pro-V1 has utilized technology from the left dot for this release. Early pro’s found the difference was not great enough and have switched.
If the demand with the pro’s drops the likelihood that the left dot comes to retail is slim. Which means the circular answer is to use the Pro-V1 if and until the left dot comes out.
  5. I've started using the AVX because I had too much ball spin and due to the way I hit the ball, the Pro V1 was getting too much height. The AVX carry is a little longer and hits softer.
  6. I still do not understand the generic descriptions of how the V1 is "more like the left dot" now......the left dot was very unique in feel, launch and "pop" off the driver. If the new V1 is softer, lower compression and not as fast, i dont see how its closer.......can someone please explain? The left dot was simply the best ball i ever hit so if the new V1 feels and performs like the left dot, i will go broke buying these balls :)

Tim, I believe the changes to the gradient core are what makes the new ProV1 perform more like the left dot. I do know we heard several pros that used left dot have switched back to the new ProV1 including Stewart Sink who did a ball demo for us at the launch party for the new balls.
  8. Definitely lower flight for long shots with AVX. Noticed a duller thud sound off the driver compared to Pro V1 too
