  1. I only post this because i have now seen and heard this in two different areas. A pro shop near me has stated Titleist has discontinued this ball.

secondly, i read this in a forum, which I do NOT take seriously, but when the pro shop said it, i figured it may have merit.

    any truth to this rumor?

Do you mean you cant find the ball for sale this year, or do you mean future versions of the AVX...?

As in the next updated lineup will not include the AVX.....i still see the current version for sale

My assumption is the pro shop meant the next updated line up or release for Titleist will NOT include the AVX...but im glad there is nothing official as this has become my main ball.

I still see them for sale everywhere, including this website.

Hmm. Not heard. It was in the Buy 3 deal this year. Touring the plant in December, they were still cracking them out. It was the only yellow ball being produced that day. Neither of which portends a demise.

Expanding the rumor w/o any basis, maybe they need production capacity to release the Left dot Pro-V1???

Well, it still shows up as a listed ball on this website and allows you to order them directly from Titleist so I would say Titleist has not discontinued the AVX.

I certainly hope it is NOT true. AvX is my ball of choice!

I really hate rumors like that especially when they start at a pro shop. Which pro shop was this?
  11. its in NY. Not going to post their names here

My wife ordered the AVX for the 3 for 4 and we received them so I do not think that they are discontinued for this season. No idea about next year.
  13. im thinking the pro shop meant next year but we didnt discuss year.....i should have asked

It’s hard to imagine that someone calling on a pro shop would have that level of detail. Titleist is pretty tight lipped about what is coming - at least more than 2 months in advance when inventory starts shipping.
Tour Speed is a similar ball. Left dot is a mystery. Left dash isn’t an ideal candidate for an amber option. Lots of variables to have a long lead time on AVX being discontinued. Guess I’ll wait until next PGA Convention for an update.
  15. This would be bad news for me. I just switched to AVX from TP5 and have been shooting some of my lowest scores.

I was at the ball plant yesterday and they were still making them.

we are talking about the next cycle of releases.....not this year.

the rumor is the avx is going to be discontinues next cycle

If the next cycle, there would be plenty of time for someone to stockpile a supply in case they do not introduce an alternative like they did when NXT’s changed to Tour Soft and Tour Speed.

I'd believe that the ball will be updated this year (fall) as it is on a different product cycle than the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. It has been on the same product cycle as the Performance line of balls (i.e., Tour Speed, Tour Soft, Velocity, Tru Feel) which is a bit odd because the box graphics won't always match the other Premium balls. Then again, the -- Pro V1x hasn't changed the packaging nor product design and construction over the years we've had it available.

So, I'd say not discontinued but rather to be updated!
  20. I hope the AVX stays around for a long time. I tried most of the comparable balls like Q Star Tour, Bridgestone BRX and E12 Contact to name 3. AVX outperformed them all for my moderate swing speed. They are great balls.
